Tonight is the jumping off point. I am here now, arrived 2 days ago, trying to find my balance. This house is meant for a vacation stay so there is a lot I have to do to it to make it comfortable.
The village and the entire area is gorgeous. It's just what I wanted. There is the feel of Roman influence all around. There is an ancient aqueduct just don the road. I need to get to the historical society in town to get more info.
I hear guns going off all the time...big hunting are. I think they are hunting fowl of some sort. The house is way back down a semi populated road...narrow rue, so narrow in parts that there is a trip light to allow one car through at a time. There is a beautiful chapel no far away. The town itself is beautiful. Here are some pics from my phone...today, everything was closed.
Best experiences, so far...seeing the Alps, super clear, behind Nice with the sea below...amazing snow covered mountains...The late afternoon light, the burning of the olive branches in the late afternoon. Fromage et pain! My car...that I start with a card...like the size of a credit card...
Annoying things...the Supermarkets> they had carter that move in all directions...so you have to fight to keep them straight...sounds like no big deal but not good for the skeletal structure. Crazy rules that I don't even know exist. Today I rushed to get to a place to buy a desk. It was 12:45, they closed at 1...It took me all of 3 minutes to pick out one with a chair, I paid ( of course my Card gave them a problem)...went around the back and they tell me no, they are closed....have to come back Wednesday. Very annoying...Also, I had a very nasty Orange phone clerk that was going out of her way to be mean.
But, I love driving standard, flying around all of the rotaries. I have killer GPS in the car with an Australian Woman guiding me.
There is the view of the beautiful St. Paul De Vence,
I am having lunch with my friend Clarisse on Wednesday....
I wish I had some art supplies or something I can do. Perhaps tomorrow I will shoot. There are some irises waiting.
Happy New Year!
