The Secret House.
I dropped off S at the Inn as she was tired and me and my camera took off into the woods down a dirt road, over a creek, to the Secret House. The grass was tall, the light was limited, the flowers were plentiful...and then the sun would come out. Look for the big camera images shot there ...to come...
Peonies, Irises, phlox, forget me knots, roses, foxglove, ferns.
O showed me this place years ago. If anything, I have good directional skills and an excellent visual memory so I can always find my way back when I have some place once. This place is easy.

Lunch
We hurried back south toward CNG to have a lunch...we stopped at the first place we found. Big mistake.
I ordered a pasta with a ragu sauce but S. ordered the Risotto. She was really talked into it by the waiter who seemed to know what he was talking about.
It came out looking like cream of wheat but with lamb in it.
It was soupy and inedible. It didn't taste all that bad but it was really unappetizing to look at.
S. dropped on of my big noodles right into the center of it and pushed it around to make it look like she ate some. ( perhaps a trick from childhood?)
We were happy to get out. Wish we hadn't been in such a rush to find someplace or we would have gone into CNG and gone to a place I have been before and know the food was good.
My pasta was ok. I don't even know the name of this place.

Into the Park
If you follow my blog you have seen this area a few times. The mountains are filled with marble...the white is not snow, but marble.
Luckily I had a little time to shoot in the meadow as there are always interesting flowers for me to shoot. They will appear later.
Eventually
we got straightened out. We had to back track a bit. But we found the road the goes to the alpine meadow that I love so much.
The wrong road.
We set out the next day as I wanted to share some of the beauty that I find every time I come to this area. As usual, when I think too much I take the wrong road. I ended up out of the way, a road that I have never been on before.
That's fine with me. There is so much to see.
We ended up circling back...and trying again
O making the pizza dough for the evening.
