So calm and clear....air temperature in the 70's. 

Slowly we turned into Zombies.

Lovely restaurant on the beach. The yellow umbrellas are not part of the restaurant. It is a beautiful interior space that looks out onto the sea. The yellow umbrellas are another restaurant. 

It was not the most comfortable place to take photos. We all had the prix fixe . I made the wrong choice and had the pork. S. had lamb and it looked really good. The dessert was excellent. We had a great bottle of Baberra d'Alba from the area of Italy that we are all fascinated with at this point.

Today / A Kingfisher

Today , I was down at the river with the dogs. A bird flew by 

on a solo trip.  I saw it coming from my left. It was iridescent blue on it's back and flew right past me up river to my right.  I have never seen a bird like that before. It was not too big, but  glowed bright blue in the light. It seemed as though it was in a hurry. 

Oh, how wonderful it might be to be so blue, deep in the green, 

following a beautiful river upstream. What could it have thought of me and my two eager creatures?
S. tells me that it was probably a Kingfisher.....I think it was. Lucky me. It is a good Omen on Sept 1. 

Today felt like the beginning of something new. There was no Labor Day celebration here. It was business as usual on this September first...we go downhill  now through fall into winter. I love this time of year. I am rushing it. Is it too soon to take out winter clothes ? ( it was about 82 here today). I want fall to be here, everything seems possible in the fall.
