Late Afternoon Walk below Bar Sur Loup

I met my friend Ellen at her house and I followed her to this beautiful spot. It used to be a paper mill.
It runs along Le Loup river. All dogs were very happy to get in and swim. A bat was circling overhead. ( chauve-souris in French, a bald rat/mouse)

The Town of St. Martin Vesubie

Vesubie is the river.
You can see the Italian border on the map.

The town has a drain that goes right through the middle of it to let the water from the mountains flow right through.
S's father buit many houses in the area and as a kid, he had a lot of free time with his siblings in this small town. We went into an ancient Tabac as it is where they used to buy comic books....He told the woman that owned the store now that it still smelled the same.
He told me that they used to jump all the way down the sluice. One child foot on each side, then you jump us and touch your feet together and land back down on either sise. I tried, but gravity was working against me.
You can buy confiture with plastic wrap on the top.
I asked for a glass of water from the tap at a brasserie. It was so cold and so good that it gave me brain freeze .  The bartender laughed at me. The water is magnifique.

way the hell up windy roads.
S. tells me that if you go on a night with a full moon, all of the wolves are howling. They are fenced in. We didn't see any as we didn't go into the area where you can see them...It's a really beautiful place and I would love to go back without the dogs.

This area is full of things to do...hiking, swimming, canyoning, white water rafting...skiing...ect. I think we are going to go repelling.

Fun was had by all!

It was late afternoon and mighty cold!

Lunch at The Alpha Wolf Park in St Martin Vesubie

S. suggest that we both have the cheese meal I will get back to you on the exact name. ( 18 euro!) ...it came with a salad ,potatoes and charcuterie. You take the cheese and put it on the burner...then when it is all soft, you slide it onto your plate. We took Emile with us as he is unruly in the car. We can't come in with 3 dogs. Emile ends us, always, staring at me for long periods of time, I think I captured it in the photo. He's not food oriented or love oriented...not sure what his orientation is. I think he's a frustrated singer.

Dogs in Cars

Zook always ends up on my lap with a blanket around him. I think Kate was car sick from the turns.
