Lunch and a Movie with S.
We had lunch at Ma....(something or other) again, Japanese French Fusion.
S. and I had the same thing...some kind of pulpo fritter and Pork fritter or some sort. It was good but...
They have a very limited menu. It's a popular place.
Then we went to The Rialto to see August: Osage County.
It was a very good movie...incredible acting but for me, it was disturbing. It pushed a lot of buttons inside of me. It left me feeling upset.

About a Girl
Perhaps you wonder why I am taking all of these pictures of myself. There are a few reasons. The main reason is that I am trying to get to know myself, accept myself. I don't know if it is because I am a woman, but I have had one hell of a time my whole life with my self image.
I am facing the fear of disliking pictures of me. I am forcing myself into the frame, in a way.
It's not a comfortable thing for me but I feel that it is part of my whole experiment with my life. I love this picture with Picasso. There is a photographic museum in Mougins that has many photographs of Picasso when he lived and worked here in the area. I have always loved these photographs. You can really get a good feel for his personality. He was so self confident and really lived life. I can learn a lot from these photographs of myself. I hope you won't mind if I continue with this experiment. It is making me come more into focus.
Also, I have seen many self portraits of artists in the museums I have been to here in Europe. It seems to be part of being an artist...trying to understand yourself. If you know me, you know how much I love art history. I love the idea of continuing the tradition even if I am just a minor artist. There is something to it, something to learn. I am always looking to learn.
Also, I found this quote by Emile Zola;
"In my view you cannot claim to have seen something until you have photographed it."
He also said.."I am an artist...I am here to live out loud."

What an amazing place. They have a beautiful classical collection of Roman, Greek and Roman artifacts sprinkled in with some modern pieces.
