It was a beautiful day today so it was nice to be out int the neighborhood on a bicycle seeing things that I don't usually see. I also rode by a huge wall of jasmine and honeysuckle.
I saw a neighbor that I do not know and we chatted a bit as I was walking the bike up the last big hill.
I drove into town and stopped to see Monsieur Lambert at his antique junk shop. He was chatting away with his friends and they included me in the conversation . I participated the best I could.
One man shook my hard heartily , as I am an American. ( many french people seem to think it's the thing to do with an American)...I go along. Now Monsieur Lambert do the kiss kiss on the cheek which he seems to prefer...
I took the dogs for the first river swim today. A main road is shut for awhile so it blocks me from many of my usual trails. We went down the steep embankment to the water. I try to get Kate to take it easy, but she gets crazed and starts breaking sticks and branches, anything she can get ahold of. Emile has no interest in a stick unless I throw it for him. Even then , after he gets it, his interest dwindles.
He's getting his hair cut on Wednesday.
The river was super fast and very cold. I found a safe spot to throw a few sticks for them.
I am still editing images from Italy. I think I still have images from holland that I haven't edited...and some abstracts that I shot before I left.
My next trip is not until mid July, to Arles and Isle Sur La Sorgue. I have to finish planning for that trip. I hope to go white water rafting with a tour company in the gorge Verdone, probably on the last day.
I am signing on to a 2nd french lesson a week to try to speak better, faster. I am encouraged by how friendly people are with me when I speak. Everyone tweaks my french just a little, a new word a correction on how I put something together, and it helps me speak better.
