Estado Puro Terrible Service.

This restaurant was highly recommended by The Lonely Planet book. It is right near the Prato and the tapas was different. I arrived at about 1:30 pm, from the start, I could see there were going to be problems. I sat outside and waited while various waitresses ignored me, or avoided me because I spoke English. It was impossible to communicate the simplest things. Keep in mind that this restaurant is on a very busy and large intersections in Madrid. It is also located in an NH Hotel. You'd think it would be mandatory for servers to speak just a little basic English. Everyone that worked there seemed to be confused. It was almost like it was the first day the restaurant opened. The Australians next to me were getting the same cold shoulder. ( tea cup, teas bag, no hot water) Our orders were wrong and mixed up. No one could understand me when I asked where the ladies room was...in 3 languages...2 girls looked at me like I was speaking some lost language, each had their heads tilted sideways...no clue.
When I finished ( The check came pretty quick), I paid and one on the waitresses came over and webt to take away my glass of wine that was bout 1/2 full...No!, yes, No, she tried again, finially I yelled No, leave it! I don't want to have to yell at a restaurant.
However, the food was excellent. I had the white chocolate "filipino" with foie-gras.
The staff could not have messed this up as it was premade...served very cold....little delicate chocolate doughnut shaped tapas with foie-gras stuffing. This was excellent. I should have had the Parmesan ice cream, but I had the potatoes, classic tapas.
Perhaps this place is better at night. I think they should regroup and start over as the really terrible service ruins the really wonderful food. You'd think they would have corrected this problem as so many reviews here say the same thing.
