Something I miss from the states, CORN ON THE COB. Here, they sell prestripped and trimmed corn in plastic. It's not good.
In Spain, they eat corn this way. I was happy to see that.
Try this at home...they have a special sauce they put on the corn....they squeeze half a lemon on the cooked ear and then add butter and red pepper. Note that they don't cook it in the husk, they use the husk to serve it.
It was a huge treat for me.
It seemed like I was always begging my parents to stop at corn stands at the side of the road on the way back from Lake George in the summer.
I loved the corn so much, especially white corn with it's beautiful white silk. I never minded shucking.
I miss it so much. It brings me right back to childhood.
