The Calamity

Some boys came by and wanted to jump off of our rapids. I knew that when one of the jumped in, Emile would jump back in too. He likes to be accompanied  in the water.

We warned them about Emile's nails. He will get you with them if you don't push him off.

One boy jumped and Emo jumped right on top of him. They both went under. The boy came up with what I think was a big scratch. I still feel bad. They left after that. 

Emile is a Nut!

He was very content to stand under this rapid as the water beat down of him. He loves this.

A Beautiful Saturday on L'Esteron River

We went on a very nice outing on Saturday to a beautiful river, L'Esteron. The entry point is past the (very cool) village of Gilette. There were many cars there already by the time we arrived.

You walk for about 20 minutes, winding downhill to the gorge/canyon.

It's so beautiful, the water is turquoise and the rocks are smooth and white. S. tells me that the water was very low.

S. found us a nice spot in the shade to have a picnic with a beautiful rapids and a pool for the dogs to swim in.
