I went to this restaurant the first time I came to Pontrmoli. At that time, ( last fall) there were tons of mushrooms. This place had displays of mushrooms in baskets in the front. This year, none. I am told it is because it is so damp and warm.
There were little tiny gnats everywhere. They were attracted to the wine. I had to cover the wine with a napkin and still it would fill us with bugs. B. told me that they are grape bugs. I saw them up in the hills in swarms.
They were especially bad in the restaurant.
The whole town is very very damp
I had Pasta Fagioli alla Ciociara. This was EXCELLET! B. told me that this is a recipe that comes from the Ciachiara areas outside of Rome. It's a dish made by poor people with very simple ingredients.
