A Unicorn

in the almost full moon. Near Stephane's house in Levens, there is an equestrian center. We have gone to this place many times. Everytime, I love to go see the horses in their stalls . This horse is just lovely, sweet and gentle. In the strong moonlight he looks like a unicorn. It does my soul great good to spend time giving love to these or any horses. It feels healing in a way.

Huh?

look at these signs...

this area was really nice...Alpine and pretty.

A Little Foray into the woods.

This was right off the ski trail...We followed a deer trail .
Kate is in heaven. She doesn't care about the flies.

Fly Central

It was incredible how many flies were on top of this mountain. S came up with a helicopter technique to keep them away.

WW2

There was some WW2 action in this area. There seems to have been a big battle in L'Authion Forest...This area is on the GR trail(?)

Some Vistas...looking south toward the sea.

Italian Ferrari Club

The Porche club left and the Ferrari club breezed through...but they didn't stop.

Patou

There is a very large Patou that keeps control on the top of the hill. I got Emile quickly into the car as these dogs are killers.

This is a gorgeous dog but you have to be very careful around them. They will kill a wolf and are ready for battle to protect their family and sheep. This dog is much bigger than Emile. He let me pet him, but cautiously.

Lunch

I would love to see this place in winter. There is a very small ski area up the road with only 2 slopes...and a Poma Lift. It must be hell getting there in the winter.

Creme Brulee and Tart Tartin

Lunch at the top

All about the car....see all of the Italian Porche club drivers having a noisy lunch. We decided to go to the quiet restaurant across the street.

Col de Turini

in the middle of nowhere...in The Mercantour Mountains, right on the edge of Italy.
I am told that the road that we travelled on is a famous roads for various races...a world famous driving road.
There was a lot of..."Are we almost there?"
