A Little Problem

After Ercolano, we were hungry and wanted to find a restaurant for lunch. We drove along the waterfront, a very dirty and poor area. We found a place that looked open. All of the cars were parked up on the sidewalk, so I gunned it and tried to hop up...halfway on...halfway off.
K said....I think you got a flat tire!
No...no way...she ran into the restaurant to see if it was open..and when she came back out...the tire was flat.
Hell.
I called the car rental company...they told me that I was on my own. The owner of the restaurant ( in blue) motioned for me to give him the phone.
I stood about 2 feet away from him trying to read his face as to what was being said. We had locked eye contact. You know how it is when you are watching somebody talk on the phone and what is being said is important to you. We gazed into each others eyes...but we were strangers. He looked away...but I held his gaze. It wenbt through my mind that this was kind of odd, but I kept watching him, directly. He eventually looked back and felt ok with me....
and then he hung the phone up.
He spoke not a word of English but I understood that he would help me change the tire after we had lunch and all of his customers left.
AGAIN...I am rescued by the Italians...I am so fortunate!
We had lunch...and waited...all being very tired.
and then all of a sudden 2 men ( one was a big boy) came out to change the tire orchestrated by my friend.
One looked up at me and said "Pit Crew"...Thank god for them...they saved the day...in this rainy, isolated place on the bay of Naples.
