My room

Where I learned about a superstition.
I went to pay the man who was in charge of the B&B. I counted out money on the bed. Both Claudio and the man looked at me in a sort of shocked way....NEVER PUT MONEY ON THE BED!

Do not put a hat/cap on a bed;

The hair was thought to hold evil spirits, maybe because of the static electricity that crackled, and popped, and sparked when someone took their hat off. This was especially true of hats lined with animal fur. If that hat was put on someone's bed, evil spirits could spill out and into the blanket and mattress.
One reason was because hats could harbor head lice. The owner of the hat could spread their lice to the owner of the bed.

Don't put money on the bed;

- never leave money on the bed! It was used in the past to pay for the doctor when someone was really sick
