This is a huge place that is very near the sea. There are many places in this area that specialize in weddings so the places are huge with giant outside areas.
This place was rather shabby, I was hoping the food would be good.
In the dirt parking lot was a big birdcage with parakeets. They had it easy...looking to the rear of the lot, there was a huge German Shepherd on a chain, in the shade.
He was on guard.
I was the only person in the place when I got there.
I ordered lunch and watched life in this obscure Italian spot.
The people that worked there or owned the place were drinking red wine in small plastic ( specimen) cups. Everyone was yelling back and forth and pacing. An older man came in and sat 2 tables away from me. The waiter greeted him as Doctorre!...He had brought his own bottle of white wine, kept on his dark sunglasses and talked on the phone. They brought out plate after plate of food.
Then, I realized there were Carbabinieri that were sitting in another part of the restaurant. I watched one pick out a nice bottle of red to have with lunch. They were seated to watch the news on TV. When I would look over, they would avert their eyes, keeping their reputations intact.
As soon as those Carbabinieri showed up, the service went way down. I could not get the mans attention. When I did, I asked him for a cappucino and I confused him....He said no....OK...so, I have to have espresso? You can have a coffee "regulari"...Ok
and it came out as an espresso with a huge bowl of sugar.
When I went back oit to the car, the German Shepherd stood up. A very old man who looked like he could barely walk was lurching up to the parking lot. He gave me a ciao and then got into a little wrecker car...I can't believe this man was going to drive.
and that was lunch.

| Frutti de Mare. I had wanted just Vongle, but he was determined that I would have Frutti di Mare. It was just OK...and a little blurry. |
