Security is high in Nice. It's the first time I saw security checking bags at Nice Etoile ( a mall in Nice) and in Gallery Lafayette. You had to open your bags and they looked through...no problem for me. I appreciate the security.
When walking through a crowd, a tall young man in sporting clothes and big backpack slammed right into an old woman and did not apologize or even turn...He kept walking. We were about 20 feet behind him. He seemed suspicious to me. He stopped and looked up the steps to a government bldg that was heavily guarded. He decided not to go there and kept walking into the crowd. I was paranoid....and spooked.
I saw many young men today carrying themselves with a superior attitude that scared me, like this boy. Am I just paranoid or have things changed?
I miss the Italian countryside.
