Update

Today...glorious fall weather...65 degrees or so...blue sky and wind. I went to Valbonne for my French lesson and the entire ville was filled with brown leaves blowing everywhere. They are chestnut trees and until today, the leaves had not dropped.

On my way there, I saw 4 girls hitchhiking. They were all dressed in spandexy horizontal striped clothes...like a girl band. They were all standing in a line with their thumbs out...proud, strong, a unit.
I almost stopped to give them a ride.
I drove on and dropped in at my little espresso place. It is a truck that sells food, but I always stop for a 1 euro espresso shot before my class...
a surprise, but the girl band beat me to the espresso/lunch truck. Some one must have picked them up right after me.
I have been warned never to pick anyone up...but, it might have been fun to pick this group up.

The leaves were swirling everywhere so I pulled over and took snapshots in the boules court in Valbonne. The photos are not very good, but the experience was wonderful. I was assaulted by big falling leaves. The wind would arrive and leaves would be flying everywhere. I loved this experience, it marked autumn  for me. I want these type of sensory experiences even if I can't capture them with the camera. Most people miss the beauty of this type of thing. I noticed a city worker, a peaceful immigrant of some sort, watching me appreciate all the leaves and the wind and the warm weather. As another human being, he understood.
