Update

Spring is just about here and I am in full shooting mode. Everyday, I just want to capture what I see. Luckily, I am in a place that offers me all kinds of subjects. I have beautiful light that flows into the small studio space that I have so as to do abstracts and atmospherics.
I am stalled again on painting but I did find an art supply store in Nice that has very large canvases
( probably super expensive compared to Blick's) I need to get back to it.
and I need to buy a new bicycle so that I can ride up and down the Bord Sur Mer...also, super expensive. Perhaps I can find a used one like the one I have in SF.
I would love to have my head phones on cruising along the sea.
I'm meeting all kinds of interesting people.

My French is coming a long. I can get by. I take on lesson a week. I need to be better but it's not easy and I speak English too much. I can express myself and get across pretty much anything that I need to say, in some form, but I make all kinds of grammatical mistakes. It's a bit like math to me. I do better when I can approach it visually...or mimicking what I have heard. I will continue to work on it though. Italy will set me back a bit.

For a client.
I have quiet a few trips upcoming. I leave for Naples in a few days to meet K and S. We will stay in Sorrento and explore from there. I am very excited about getting back to Pompeii and Herculaneum. This time I need to get to Opolontis and Boscorale. We will go up Vesuvius. I hope to find some beautiful things to shoot. I am on the hunt for architectural details as well as the usual floral images. I am trying to tweak my style a bit.
We will be going to Naples, to the Archaeological Museum and to meet my friend Claudio. He will arrange a safe tour for us through the streets on Naples. I am staying a day longer to hang out with Claudio in Naples. I am looking forward to that as I want to see Naples but am a little wary.
I am flying in early to get back to Pozzuoli. I have not seen the Roman Amphitheater there. I may go back to Baia and Cumae. The whole area north of Naples is very interesting...historically and geographically.

I should add that I have been taking another course on Ancient Rome Art. This one is an architectural course through Saylor...but on line classes from Yale. I bought the books and am excited to be having new eyes to see Pompeii.
Check out Saylor...there are many courses.

I will do the Modern Art one after I finish the Roman Architecture.

After Naples, I go to Holland/Belgium  at the end of April, Tuscany in May, Maybe Paris in June for the music festival and to go to Normandy and Giverney,
Provence in July for Bastille Day and Lavender. I was thinking of Rome for Xmas as I have to get back to Rome.
I would like to go to some place tropical as I need some beach/jungle time and I miss snorkeling.
I will probably do a few 3 days trips...I think S. and I will go to Rayol and Marseilles in early April ( still in planning stages) . I need to go skiing at least once. I need to go see Ms. Nicolodi on Ischia.
How about Spain? Back to The Peloponnese/Athens? So many places...so easy to get there.

I hate leaving the dogs but the whole reason I am here is to live, so live I must.
