Today is a holiday and it really feels like one. We drove north towards St. Paul in search of a trail we have been on before. Instead, we found a new trail. The main road was called Route de Provence. It was a very narrow trail through thick woods, zig zag down hill. When you got to the bottom there was a beautiful rushing stream covered over with trees and plants. The map shows that this stream goes into Le Loup way downhill. We made our way down to a deep pool. Kate slid right down but Emile had to be coaxed. I forgot to put on hiking boots so I sat down and slid down. Going back up, I had to drag Emile up by his harness. It was beautiful there.
Going back up, you end up in a private olive grove. I photographed ferns and top lit bright green leaves. It was dense so there were not many things for me to photograph but it was a beautiful hike.
We have to go back tomorrow as I dropped a camera extension tube somewhere along the way.
