Various

You know the song that goes something like..." I belong to you, you belong to me in my sweetheart.." Something like that. It's a new song..
Well, on my last day in Florence, as I was making my way back to the car, I stopped at a little bar that sold juice drinks. I sat and drank my drink and wanted to quickly use the bathroom before my drive north to Vecchio. All of a sudden 6 teen aged boys came in...they were about 17 or 18 years old, with backpacks. They stopped to all use the bathroom. This was before I was able to get to it. I quickly realized that they were American boys, in Florence for the night...passing through.
I waited and waited as each one took his long turn. I must have waited 20 minutes. I was annoyed. There was nowhere else for me to stop. Finially one boy let me go before him in a sort of begrudging way.
But, as I was standing there waiting, that song came on...and all the boys were singing, kind of low, under their breath..." I belong to you, you belong to me in my sweetheart".. And it was kind of sweet to hear them all singing this sweet emotional song. ( Hey Ho by the Lumineres)
Then again, they had no manners and should have let me go first .

When returning form the Futa Pass, I got stuck in a line of traffic. I stopped and let a car go through that wanted to turn in front of me. The 2 men in the car stopped in the middle of turning and blew me kisses.

At the supermarket they just put in the new self service pay machines. Here's how they work...
You scan your stuff as usual, but you cannot bag them until the end. You put all onto the scale and then pay and then bag. In order to get out of the self pay area, you have to feed your receipt ino a scanner that allows you to leave. The machines are in french and English . I always use french.
