A Rendezvous á St Paul

View up to the village.
I had a very nice Rendezvous in St Paul on Thursday. I met my friend at about 5:30 in the boules court. The light was hazy.
We met in the court and walked up into the village along the rampart wall, all the way around the village. We passed a couple in their late teens who were standing up on an observation post, passionately kissing in the late afternoon light. They were two healthy specimens and did not care who was around.
We spoke only in French as my friend does not speak English at all. We stopped at a nice cafe and had a glass of wine. We had a wonderful time trying to understand each other and laughing about the little difficulties.
We stayed there for an hour or so and it was time to walk back down to the parking and part.

Small vegetable and flower seller in the ancient water station...There is a big trough for washing? for horses? and a spigot that just runs. The light was beautiful there.

Tourist with his French Bull Dog.

The men play Boules and cafe life goes on behind them.

I met a very nice person from Mandelieu today. They work as a some kind of technician in Antibes with "Spectaculars"( as the French call them), big events, like opera and concerts. They have 2 children, one 18 yr old boy that lives with them and a daughter , 14 that lives with their ex in another town far away. They dressed simply ( I missed the shoes again!) , no perfume/cologne, and were very polite and kind. It was a great pleasure speaking French with this person. It was fun as opposed to other experiences where it has been like being schooled. It was lovely sitting in this cafe, in the shade, drinking a glass of wine, getting to know each other.
This person told me something about being a sailboat captain in Madagascar. This person's father was stung on the eyelid by a jellyfish. Their Mother, and Father both had skin cancer, so they stay out of the sun. Me Too. I may have not understood the part of Madagascar. They are very proud of where they live, on the edge on the Esteral, the Grand Canyon of France. They live in an area that is filled with Mimosa in the spring. They told me that there street is filled with Mimosa. I tried to describe that living amongst all that acid yellow must have some effect on them, but I don't think I was able to explain that in French. They taught me to add "avec plasir"( with pleasure)  into my daily salutations to people, where I could. We laughed a lot, It was a very nice time. I hope there will be more.
The place of rendezvous.
