We stumbled upon this restaurant looking for salads and a non touristy place. We had a nice table in the window practically right on the sidewalk. It is a great place for people watching.
We both ordered Ceasar Salad and I have to make a complaint and admit something I miss about California.
What we had was NOT a Caesar Salad. The only thing the Caesar would recognize is the dressing, kind of.
Does anyone here know that a Caesar Salad is made with Romaine not with alternate lettuces ( especially frisée?
And tomatoes? I think not. Must they force chicken into a Caesar. I get odd looks when I want it without chicken.
I crave a Caesar Salad made in California. I used to go to a restaurant that was Nicoise cuisine. Oh how I miss the wonderful long Romaine spears, tossed with dressing and parmesean with anchovies on top.
