Today, I spent the day shopping. There is fantastic shopping on a long and wide street right in the center of the city. The are many famous buildings in the area so I saw some beautiful sights. It was very crowded. There were many people from Arabian countries. A woman that worked in a shop told me that in August, many of them come here for operations and to see doctors as the doctors in Germany are better than in their countries. There were many, many women covered head to toe in black ( some wearing colors), shopping. Many in all out dress with only eyes showing. I am confused by it all. Are they wearing super fabulous clothes under the coverings? Do they look down on women that don't dress that way? Being a woman, I find this custom oppressive, but the women don't seem to mind, it's like a club that they belong to.
In the huge crowd that was there I would say about 40% or more were like this.
When I got to the big market area, they were gone. They didn't go to that area at all
