I love this kind of day. It was dark gray all day, but it was all out fall. I can easily blend right in as I look French. I do keep to myself though as my French is just OK.
During my searching, I saw a big spider, about the size of a 50 cent piece. I came upon a small snake...It was only about 5" but it was still a snake. I gave a little scream when I saw it...an older man came a long. I told him there was a little serpent and that I was afraid of serpents ( all in French). He waited for me, till I got out of the thicket...so sweet.
A nice woman ( one of the experts) started to talk to me. I talked to her in French for quiet awhile. She was very patient. She had a little english as she lived in England for awhile.
When I would have to speak English, it appeared jarring to the locals. People would stop and stare.
I would then go back to French and speak very low.
words learned;
bitter...amer
sour...aiger
It was a lovely experience.
