Pontremoli...tourist free

Today, I left at noon and drove to Italy, Pontremoli. It rained a little but the sky felt like it wanted to produce a rainbow.
I have never been in this area before. I arrived late afternoon to very low, very strong yellowish orange light.
The first thing I did was a faux pas. I crossed a 1 lane bridge with small other cars on it. Yikes...I passed 2 tint mint green locals cars that were cursing me for being French ( my plates) as I eeked by.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontremoli
I crossed a bridge, entered into a town that just happenned to turn out to be Pontremoli. The light was good, so I thought I would go shoot. I saw a sign for the museum that I had been looking for and it led me down this long one way road...I have no idea where this was going to. It eventually went over an old stone bridge.

There was a beautiful garage that had all these colors of blue on it. I also found a long pheasant feather when I got out f the car.

View back into Pontremoli from the long road.

Persimmons? I took a side street and came upon some grape vines glowing in the light. I got out to take photos. I saw an old woman with very short white hair, almost like a brush cut...carrying a big box filled with these beauties. I told her that I must take them for her, so I carried them to her house, down the street. She let me take some shots and introduced me to her black cat. Look at that light!

Impossible to photograph, but light so green and acid yellow that it made my teeth hurt.

Passed this site, circled back to shoot it.

Where I am staying...dead center in the middle of town.

When I was parking, I looked up and saw this guy. He has quiet the commanding view. What a beauty. He never barked at me, but was completely silent.

I bet he is a hunter off duty...no collar! I don't leave collars on my dogs when they are not out either.

Look at him!

Gorgeous afternoon light.

In the piazza Roma.

The street stones and moss.

Lots of moss here. I saw people scraping it off walls.

interesting face...luke warm color. Big forehead.

The river and part of the town.

Beautiful River
