After the garden, I took the train back into the city to see the Walker Evan and Pasolini shows at the Martin-Gropius Museum.
I have a few seen a few films written and directed by Pasolini, but I never knew anything about him. This was a good show and pretty interesting. He was a bit odd. I don't quiet know how to describe him and his life. He was a talented writer, director, painter, artists. He led an interesting life with very talented friends. He made some memorable films about Roman "underlife", featuring prostitutes and petty criminals.. He was constantly in legal troubles even after his death mostly due to the themes of his films amongst other things. In the end, he was murdered in Sabaudia Italy where he had a summer home on the beach. There was a large funeral in Rome.

After seeing that, The tight compositioned Walker Evans was not so easy to take. The images were no bigger that 8x10 and all B&W. He had an amazing eye for composition . I really like his work, but after the Pasolini, I didn't have the patience for it.
It was like having a big flamboyant meal and then being offered

I should have done the Walker Evans show first.
This Museum had 2 more shows too. It's a beautiful place.
