A wonderful thing to do on a rainy morning in Berlin...examine ancient antiquities.
They have the beautiful bust of Nefertiti. It's in it's own room, in a glass case so you can walk all the way around it...no photos allowed.
It's interesting to watch the faces of little kids looking up at this bust in awe and wonder....Do they even understand? Why is this head so important. I watched a little boy of about 7 or 8, ringing his hands, looking at it for a few minutes. What must he have been thinking?
I came upon a room that held the findings of an archaeologist that I had read a book about. It's a very interesting historical novel by Irving Stone.
"The Greek Treasure"
Heinrich Schliemann and his search for the city of Troy in Turkey.
The bounty is called Priam's Treasure and is displayed at this museum. You can see this diadem, necklace and earring there.
It is pretty amazing and a very interesting subject.
