Tonnerre et la foudre.
It would not stop raining so I thought I might eat that the hotel. I had originally said no, but wanted to see if I could still eat. There was no one around so I thought perhaps they would have to make dinner just for me. I didn't want them to do that so I just let it go. They never really gave me an answer. A little later I started getting hungry...so I went down to see if I could get something small. The dining room was packed. I looked at the board and the meal was rabbit. I tried to back out and hoped no one had seen me, but the woman who checked me in told me to come in and eat....oh nooo...I don't eat rabbit, no way, no how. I begged off. No dinner for another night.
This hotel was odd. It was an old house, that was turned into a hotel The owners must be from Thailand or someplace like that as the decorations are a mix of old crappy french and odd thai paintings and wooden figures...It was a confusing old dusty mess. The pillow on the bed ( 2 twins as usual) were long round bolsters. I could not use this as a pillow no way. I couldn't sleep for hours ( no AC or even a fan either) . At around 3, I got up and looked in the closet. There were pillows in there. ( les oreillers) But the damage had been done,
The room was shabby and that mix of styles, however, that bathroom was all slate and like a spa with a waterfall shower head. I was so confused by this place.
The other thing about this place was that it was filled with old people by themselves. It had the feel of a run down nursing home.
The name of the hotel was Villa enalletsaC ( backwards to avoid search...)Don't stay here, you won't like it.
The next morning the weather was nice so I got to swim for awhile at around 9am. That made me happy. The dining room was filled with people having breakfast so it was brave of me ( to me anyway) to swim in front of the whole crowd. I didn't care.
Before I left I took some photos. I found the old swimming pool in the back that had cattails growing out of it.
