Today I hit the road for my trip to Provence to see Lavender. I got a bit of a late start because as usual, I was over packed and could not get it together. I left at 12.
P. gave me an excellent French Program that mesmerized me during the entire drive. Wow, was it good! I learned so much in 3 hours and Voila, I was there.
However, The Toll Booths were not going to let me go so easily. I thought that I had it figured out using My Amex card. It worked at the first toll, but would not work for the 2nd toll. It was a no Amex tollbooth...and I tried 3 Visa cards and it would not go. Of course, it does not take cash.
I put my blinkers on so no one would pull behind me. People are pretty patient. There is alot of backing up and changing lanes.
Luckily, a guy came out and took cash from me. He tried my cards, but no...so, I will avoid that leg on the way back...from Aix to Arles.
I got off at Arles and all of a sudden there were fields of sunflowers....a tribute to Van Goth. There are also may white horses in this area.
I tried to make it to the Bamboo Garden but it was getting too late. I did drive around North of Nimes in the beautiful light with vegetable and fruit stands everywhere. I was on many roads that were only about one and a half lanes wide with no shoulders and deep ditches on either side.
In fact, I saw a car that had gone over into a ditch and was pretty much swallowed up and lay on it's side. Many cars stopped to help. I kept thinking if that happened to me, at least I would have a crowd that would congregate and help.
I drove up a little road that led to a public forest and saw this nice bull in some one's back yard. There are a lot of bulls in this area...I saw a few signs in small villages that I drove by warning of bulls that are loose in the town, so watch out for them. ( Tareau) . That, I want to see. I have some experience with bulls from the PBR.
