Two Art Shows

I think there were in the Galleria d'Arte Moderna that is in the Palazzo Ducale.

S. preferred Munch, I preferred Doisneau. The photography exhibit was in the basement. The Munch exhibit was in the Ducal Apartments that had amazing ceilings.

Munch;

What I found most interesting were his portraits and the fact that he had an open air studio in Norway where he left paintings out to the elements.
The Scream was not there, instead they finished the show with Andy Warhol and his version of The Scream.
 Doisneau
French photographer ( 1912-1994)

Black and White, celebrity and everyday working people shots. I liked that he followed people to catch them in just the right spot to take a photo and that he set up traps to get peoples reaction to things.
There are some beautiful fashion photos all shot in Paris, some in the designers studios.
I loved the deep contrast in the photos in the great market halls.

Doisneau was known for his modest, playful, and ironic images of amusing juxtapositions, mingling social classes, and eccentrics in contemporary Paris streets and cafes. Influenced by the work of André KertészEugène Atget, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, in more than twenty books he presented a charming vision of human frailty and life as a series of quiet, incongruous moments.
The marvels of daily life are so exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street. – Robert Doisneau
