I left at about 9 and just got back. 9 hours of shooting. I went through 2 batteries and and two 32 GB flash cards. What an amazing place. I am glad I got the early as by 11 it was packed. It's a very large property with beautiful planted beds, sculptures, swans, huge old trees, ponds, fountains and more. There are 5 or so pavilions the first being filled with tulips of every kind you could imagine. It's so extensive it's almost impossible to describe. The website doesn't even help.
Besides tulips the are daffodils and orchids, hyacinth , lily's , irises .
There were photographers galore there with their big lenses and tripods. Everyone was taking pictures of everything. People were the for all over the world, every accent you could imagine.
It was a very very windy day. You could hear the wind coming loudly in the distance. Luckily , there was so much to shoot inside. It was sunny too, I'm very lucky. It was a beautiful, but cold day.
Can't wait to see the photos I shot. I will be editing forever.
I met a nice older man that was selling pretty glass tulips. He and his wife and son drove mopeds from Amsterdam to Rome...it took 10 days. Can you imagine? They went all along the shore.
They had a very nice petting zoo. People seemed afraid to go in. There were thousands of people mulling around the outside and very few, like 4 or so, on the inside. I went right in. They had the sweetest baby lambs and a very nice reddish cow who liked his chin rubbed. They also had teacup pigs, but they wouldn't let you near them, they would back away. I went in twice, if you must know. I have always been a sucker for a petting zoo. Where else can I pet barnyard animals?
What's with Mars and Snicker Bars here. They sell them everywhere. Those 2 are my all time favorite candy bars. Can you imagine the pressure I am under to have a Mars bar.More to come.
