South of Schipol Airport

South of the airport are fields and fields of flowers. I got off on an exit and just started driving locally. You canal off the side of the road and walk right down to the edge of a field of blue hyacinth and shoot all day if you want. The blue is my favorite. Wait till you see the pictures.
I ended up quickly in the town that I am staying in, Noodwijk. It is on the North Sea. I had no idea what it would look like here. There are not only flower fields everywhere, but animals. The are many horses and some fine black faced sheep and their babies. I saw miniature horses and goats, men driving horse drawn coaches and all kinds of dogs it's very flay here...and then you hit the dunes and the big wide beach.
I walked through a random town with a beautiful white church in it and took pictures.
I had a hard time finding the hotel. Everyone speaks English so it was easy for me to ask directions. Everyone is so nice.
I thought I found my hotel, it was a kind of fancy place with a beautiful dining room. The name was correct. When I went in to check in the man s aid, oh no, you have the wrong place....so I drove further and found a place with almost the exact name, but very different.
The place that I booked is a little house in a little rental house community...not towels, no blow dryer. They are nice enough to give you 2 rolls of toilet paper. It's a 3 bedroom house on a little canal that is very scarce. I can see how it would be great for a family in the summer who want to cook.  Bookings.com misled me. It's nice enough, but no towels?
What is it with Europe and the 2 single beds pushed together to make is seem like a big bed.  It's not fooling me. I sleep on that in France. It's not comfortable.
I decided to go out to dinner in Noordwijk on the sea. There are many restaurants on a sort of boardwalk. I did my research and picked a steak house. Maybe I picked it because there were so many Argentinian Steal Houses in Amsterdam and it made me hunger for my once every 2 week
piece of red meat. The restaurant and steak were very good. It was a fancy place but the presentation was really lacking. The meat was perfect but served with a tiny lump of cole slaw....they were both lost on the plate. They served frites in a bowl separate with Aioli . I will go to the fish restaurant tomorrow night.
On the way home at 8 pm or so, there were groups of horses ( 6 or so in a group) and riders on the bike paths just out for a stroll. They liked having their photo taken.
Btw....the weather, overcast with occasional sun peaking out. It's very humid and as it gets dark, cold.
I forgot to bring a coat, a nice coat, so I have been wearing layers with a short blazer. I need a coat! Don't know how I forgot that.
I'm exhausted. I hope I can sleep. Can't wait to feed the pictures in, but I will wait till I return to France.
