Hike Today

The dogs and I took a late afternoon hike today. We went back to a familliar trail that is below Tourettes Sur Loup. The trail was grown over and a machette would have come in handy. There were flowers, not the ones I was looking for, but there were wild scabiosa and canterbury bells, broom and wild sweet peas. Halfway through, the trail links up with a dirt fire road. We took that back. We didn't see a soul on the entire hike.
We did see a beautiful hummingbird. It was tiny, about 1.5" long. There were so many insects flying and jumping. When we would walk by, grasshoppers would jump away from us into the tall grass, Emile kept thinking it was an animal in the brush.
We say some gorgeous smoke bushes, valerian and morning glories.
You have to be covered with insect repellant and wear long pants and shirt.
Beautiful Clouds

Emile Takes his Turn at Leading. He has a high step technique with his back legs that is interesting.
