A little more...

They showed us what is needed to restore the structures. The park above was plated with 50 feet of dirt and then trees were planted including Ilex and Umbrella Paines. The roots have made it all the way down to the Domus.  The trees and all of the dirt has to come up. They have a new technique that will allow the Park to be replanted but the dirt will only be about 5 feet. It will cost 39 million euro...

locate the colisieum in the center...just above it to the right is the Domus Aurea. At the time, the Coliseum did not exist, it was a lake that was part of the Domus complex.
