This is the first time I had been to the Palazzo Barberini. I had no idea it had such a beautiful collection of art.
They have a few Carravagio's, A beautiful Raphael Portrait and Hans Holbien's Henry the VIII.
These are frescoes in a big ballroom. Pietro de Cortona...Allegory of Divine Providence and Barberini Power. You have to lay down on the floor and look way way up at it.
The palace was designed by Bernini , Carlo Maderno and Borromini. Madero was the principle, he died and Bernini became principle architect. ( even though he was better known for sculpture) ...Borromini's personality caused his problems.
