Borries near Gordes

Dry Stone Huts in Provence...many uses, not all that old.

La Fontaine de Valcluse

This little town is where the Sorgue River originates. It's a very pretty spot.

Breakfast

K. and I had a really nice breakfast at au Chineur.

Les Terrasses Du Basin

I really liked this hotel. I wish it was easier to find. Parking is iffy as well. Make sure you get a little porch on the river. It is in The Luberon and would be a great place for seeing the Lavender in July.

I got up extra early in the morning to go out and wander and shoot photographs. What a beautiful place.

Instant Fish Spa?

Many water wheels in town.

L'Isla Sur La Sorgue

It was very difficult to find the hotel but eventually we did. These are views from my hotel window. It was a very nice place. We ate dinner in the hotel so we could all be on WiFi. We must have looked silly, all buried in our electronics.

After Avignon

After Avignon we drove North in hopes of finding the turn off for L'Isla Sur La Sorgue, where we were to stay that night. I mistakenly took a turn through one simple tunnel and I was off in the wrong direction. I pretty much wing it when I drive and K. was getting very worried that we were too far off base. We eventually managed to get on to the right track and arrived at dusk. I took some beautiful photos in a field of tall grasses.

More interesting

I was more interested in this doggie outside of the Palace. We became fast friends. His tail will tell you a story.

Pope's Palace, Avignon

I did not take many pictures but here are a few. It's an interesting place but I think I was a little tired at this point.

Lunch in St. Remy

Les Baux

Les Baux, directly below St. Remy which is directly below Avignon.
It is in an unusual landscape as you can see from the pictures.

We did miss the catapult demonstration. It's a bit too commercial for me but really pretty none the less.
