I saw a sign for a Monastery and decided to take a side trip. It was 5K of windy scary narrow roads up into the trees, into the fog. I parked and walked in.
This is a working Monastery but there are areas that allow visitors. The Cartusian monks do all kinds of craft work including these beautiful carved crucifixes , pottery, jewelry.

check out the website. I loved it here in the fog and rain. It must have an amazing view in clear skies.
It was built in the 12th Century on the site of an old destroyed church.
