Everyone was bundled up, but I did see a woman in a bathing suit...It was about 25 degrees.
I went looking for the store that had the fancy knobs for the dressing table I bought. I found the place and drove around and around till I finially saw a public garage. That's the best thing to do...just find the public parking and walk.
The store was not as I expected. It is 3 generations, but you have to ask for what you want. There are a few different parts to the store. I was imaging a big open space with lots of gold, silver and crystal shining with high ceilings. Instead I got walked to the 2nd part of the store to the woman who had the Boutons...the knobs. Her granddaughter was reading behind the counter with a big dog on her lap. The dog kept barking at me, but it nicely doubled as a book rest for the girl ( in her 20's).
Nothing fabulously memorable happened in the store.
I always prefer silver...and I bought the silver crystal knobs, but then I thought...I think the pice calls for gold. I often change my mind at the last minute on things, but I was a little embarrassed, so, I went with the silver.
From there I just decided to walk around and get to know that neighborhood. I'd start small. The main Street was Ave Barca. It is very close to the Port. I found a Socca restaurant and ordered up some for myself. I had to wait for a bout 6 minutes, so got a good look around the neighborhood. Best Socca I have had...thicker and crusty...delicious.
