A Saturday Stroll through La Colle Sur Loup

I took a walk through town, midday looking for a Mimosa tree in bloom near a church. I passed a few interesting things on the way. The Speedy Chef ( M. Voila) , the doors with heart, spade, diamond and club on them, distance to Cagnes and Nice, M. Eugene Sue

A Celebrated French Novelist and Literary Dandy. It seems that his family was from La Colle and ;
As a tribute, his bust, made by a sculptor from La Colle, was inaugurated by Simone Signoret in the 1950s.

This gave rise to the famous skit about the telegram with Yves Montand.

Not sure what that means, but, it was the 50's in the French Riviera so I am guessing it was something Fabulous and irreverent, perhaps I can find out.

Is it me or does he look like Stephen Still?
