The purchasing of a couch.

Today, I went back to he store Conforma, in Antibes to buy a small couch. I found the perfect one and it was only  €159. It seems that leather, or faux leather ( pleather) is all the rage here. My couch is some kind of black fabric. Anyway, I had to purchance and arrange it all in French. The man was very patient. It seems that this was the last one...and there was no box for it...no box meant that they would not  deliver. I asked the man to come out and look at my car. He said that although it was very sporty, the couch would not fit.
Get this...there is an option to rent a camion ( a small van) from them to drive it yourself. You leave your car and take care of the delivery on your own. So I said...ok, why not. I paid for the couch and went to the back where you pick things up...I was to see Jerome...well, it turns out that I did not have the correct insurance, so no camion. Now what?
Jerome made an exception and they are delivering it Jeudi, Tuesday....jeudimis really Thursday, but I know what he meant.
It was the most French I have spoken since I arrived here. It may not have been pretty, but I'm getting there.
The showroom had a big hole in the floor in the shape of Africa, I mentioned to the salesman and he said yes, he had recognized that before. Interesting.
Went back to Carrefour for a few things...less crazy but I am always in awe of how much food they have in that store. My friend J has me looking at the sushi makers now as she told me that they are all Chinese and not Japanese. I  noticed that in Paris. It's really very different when it's done by the Chinese....not nearly as good. I am guessing I will be discussing this topic again.

  2. I found one small little tub of it but decided I would make my own.
Interesting...in California, we have a whole aisle of hummus and some pudding...mostly low fat. In France, we have 1 small kind of hummus and enough pudding...regular fat, to feed a couple of elephants. Is chocolate bad for elephants...note how when I think pudding, I think chocolate.
