So, I wandered into a local restaurant that advertised traditional Nicoise cuisine. It was very dark and very much like a cave. I was the only diner . They had a very large menu with all kinds of fish and meat. I would have liked to have had lasagna, but they were out. I went for the blackboard special, Loup au Daraude, Grillee. I have had this fish before. If you follow my blogs you may remember Mrs. Nicolodi making it for me on Ischia as her black cat looked on. She boiled in with lemon and herbs. It's always the whole fish. I did not remember this for some reason. I knew I had had good experiences with it. I had it on the beach in Greece. That time it was cooked over an open fire in aluminum foil. ( very memorable for other reasons that I will not go in tot ) So I figured, why not...you are a sophisticated risk taker....bring on the Daurade.....
I was not expecting what arrived. Au Pizzaiolo, 4, bis rue du Pont Vieux.
